The Cohen Building

This is a mixed-use building with retail and commercial on the main floor and residential units above. This building is historic and unique in nature as the single building used to be two separate buildings and the floor elevations on any given story do not match up.

For the lighting, we wanted to accent the existing historical façade and architectural elements of the building. On the exterior, LED linear uplights were installed to highlight the columns and the cornice of the building while small exterior wall mounted fixtures were used to provide pedestrian lighting at the sidewalk. On the interior, the design intent was to bring back some historical aspect of the building by using lighting fixtures that were used during the era of the building, but with modern day LED technology.
